TN-07: Montgomery County to play key role in special election

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Polls officially open Tuesday morning for Tennessee’s special election, and Aftyn Behn and Matt Van Epps are making their final pitches on the District 7 campaign trail.

The special election has gotten national attention. Monday morning, Speaker Mike Johnson spoke at a Van Epps event and even phoned the president during his speech.

We have more members of the Republican party than we’ve ever had and we love Tennessee, so get out there and vote and show the world something,” President Donald Trump said on speaker phone. “The world is watching.”

Political science experts say Montgomery County could play a major role in the outcome.
