Not willing to work? Then, the King has demanded there be no food for you...

The steady creep in what the GOP defines as "able bodied" has also been fascinating to observe. It used to be that anyone 49 and younger was defined as "able bodied." Then, the GOP raised the age limit to 53. Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" redefined as "able bodied" anyone 64 and younger. The 62 year old with a broken body from decades of manual labor might beg to differ whether or not he or she is still "able bodied."

Food stamp recipients are now receiving their November benefits, but a growing swath of enrollees may soon lose their vital food assistance completely.

At the same time as the government shutdown disrupted the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, states began implementing an expansion of the program’s work requirements as mandated in the Republicans’ “big, beautiful bill,” which was signed into law by President Donald Trump this summer.

Under the GOP package, more food stamp enrollees will have to work, volunteer or participate in job training for at least 80 hours a month or they will only be able to receive benefits for three months out of every three years.

The expanded work requirements will result in 2.4 million fewer Americans receiving food stamps benefits in an average month over the next decade, according to a Congressional Budget Office analysis. This includes 300,000 families with children.

Recipients who don’t meet the requirement will likely start losing their benefits in March, but the timing will depend on where they live and when they must recertify their eligibility for food stamps.

The application of logic would have one strongly believe that Republican members of the house and senate not be fed. And this can be surmised from only casual observation. One can conclude that the only exercise republicans in Washington get is by daily lying about truth tellers. I’m unfamiliar with what muscles are exercised.

Someone who doesn’t know where they’re going to sleep at night, most likely doesn’t have a phone, a car, or even access to a shower? Who more than likely has a chronic health issue?

Next thing you know they’ll make it illegal for churches and food banks to hand out free food because in their eyes it makes people lazy.
