My dear Grandpa - who was a proud, patriotic life-long Republican - passed away Dec. 1st, 1980. Just as Ronald Reagan was planning his first move into the White House. Everything went downhill from there, as I don't need to tell any of you.

I believe that for several years the Republican Party slowly lost its way from being the "Party of Law and Order" or the "Party of Patriots" etc. It took a while, but Newt Gingrich (among others) hurried it along. But come on, none of us believe that any of those "patriots" are still hanging on. They've gone to their greater reward and we're left with the kooks and nutz who have nowhere else to go.

My Grandpa's Republican Party is long gone. And the proof is what's here now - the Repukes of today. My Grandpa and his Republicans would have never tolerated the corrupt, lying convict who occupies the White House now.

... Fightin' Bob LaFollette, John Lindsay ..., you know - when the GOP worked at bipartisanship.

National Health Care is not a Democrat vs Republican issue - it's a liberal vs conservative issue. What makes a difference between Democrats and Republicans on those who support universal healthcare is whether it's administer through state or federal government, and whether there is private industry component or not.

Conservative Democrats and conservative Republicans do not want it, period.

The first serious move towards a National Healthcare Program was one that proposed by President Nixon and Senator Ted Kennedy and Congress stomped it down.

This is the GOP Platform that got Eisenhower re-elected in 1956 ...

I wasn't old enough to vote then, I was just entering Kindergarten at the time. But I would have proudly cast a vote for Ike if I'd been allowed. As a Potus, he was beloved by Democrats as well as Republicans.

When I was a little girl of about 8, I thought that Ike would be President forever and. if the same platform would have been followed, that would have beem pretty good for the US.

siblings and I in our pre-teen years when he'd nod off after his 16-hour day on the farm or his dairy. And we'd all giggle of course. On the other hand, child-like MAGA gets their collective panties in a twist when dump's nodding off yet again gets brought up and will get into some ingrained reflex about "Sleepy Joe" or other similar nonsense. The common point here being "childish" or "childlike", except of course, these jokers are well beyond their years as children.

The job of president is strenuous and tiring; too much for such an old man. I should know, I'm also 79 yrs old.
It seems like I'm aging 2 years for each calendar year now. Donnie might be doing 3 for 1.
Personally I don't see how he does it; all that golf and late night rage tweeting has got to wear a body down.
I think ol' sleepy Don should take a 3 year rest down at Mar-a-Lago before this job puts him into a permanent dirt dream.

If not for his sake, for ours.

Something akin to a shock collar but discreet, mind you, and maybe worn under his clothing. They can hand a remote to Malaria, Nazi Miler, Little Johnson and each of the Barbie lawyers - those always around him. And any time his eyelids slowly close, ZAP! They could play a game, and mabe place side bets amongst themselves over who can zap Donny the most times in one setting.

Maybe Fanduel could get in on it so we could all play.

Instead he roams and rages during the night and therefore is a sleepy mess for most of the daylight hours. Not to mention, his brain cannot focus on the topic at hand. So he drifts off during meetings— even things that are kind of important. Someone earlier mentioned a shock collar or — I have an idea —something that might be attached to his nips. Problem solved of the tRumpster nodding off. I’d pay money to see his face the first time Melania hits the remote.
