The race reveals sharp demographic divisions. Voters under 40 strongly support Behn, with 64% backing the Democrat, while Van Epps' support increases with age, reaching 61% among voters over 70.
Gender is also playing a significant role. Men favor Van Epps by nine points, 51% to 42%, while women back Behn by six points, 50% to 44%.
"There is also a stark gender divide," Kimball noted, adding that the same pattern appears in favorability ratings. Among women, 54% view Behn favorably compared to 41% of men, while 52% of men have a favorable view of Van Epps versus 42% of women.
Both candidates are viewed similarly overall, with each holding a 47% favorable rating and 41% unfavorable rating among district voters.

(28,315 posts)Friend of mine live in that district. GOP is running nasty attack ads constantly. Not one of the ads say anything about Van Epps or anything that he would do for the district.
One would think all that negative hyperbole would create a backlash at some point but people seem to fall for it.
