Deploying the military on a detail wherein they are walking the streets while citizens are strolling about is ludicrous. It is impossible to formulate specific rules of engagement in this situation. Technically, what is happening is that the military has been deployed as an occupying force, which means that any stranger approaching within twenty feet of a guardsman is presumed to be the enemy and should be immediately shot. Trump does not understand the layers of concern involved in this military action. By his nonsensical deployment of the military in D.C., he has cause a tragedy, the specifics of which have not occurred since the Civil War.

The US military works for the American people.
And defends the American people, not fights them.

Trump is staging a politcal stunt, a reality TV show which just killed a young woman needlessly.
