"No, he's doing a good job," Trump replied. "Kash Patel? No, he's doing a great job, I think."

Trump was asked by a reporter aboard Air Force One Tuesday if he planned to replace Kash Patel after a report that the FBI director was on “thin ice.”

“No, he’s doing a good job,” Trump replied. “Kash Patel? No, he’s doing a great job, I think.”

But that’s not what the president is actually thinking, according to MS NOW, which cited three sources in the know. Patel’s use of taxpayer money to protect his singer girlfriend and questioned travel on a government jet have perhaps worn out his welcome, MS NOW reported. Trump has pondered replacing him with FBI co-deputy director Andrew Bailey, the channel wrote.

Patel has also fought with other Trump allies, MS NOW wrote, and was previously under fire for prematurely announcing a suspect had been caught in the murder of Charlie Kirk.
