(1,338 posts)The guard should only be subject to danger when the nation needs them. Right now most to all deployed national guard people are not needed and should be with their families for Thanksgiving.
Two soldiers would be whole today if they had not been deployed for show. I'm sorry, that's my heartbroken reaction.
It is the type of thing that despots would set up in hope of a disaster. That way, they could stage a strong appearance. You keep armed people on the streets and, eventually, something is bound to happen.
