TN-07: Early voting ends for Tennessee special congressional election

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Early voting in the special election for Tennessee’s 7th congressional district ended on Wednesday.

So far, nearly 50,000 people have cast their ballots to decide who will fill the empty seat in Washington. The outcome will decide who will succeed former Congressman Mark Green who resigned last summer to take a job in the private sector.

The Republican nominee is Matt Van Epps, a decorated U.S. Army veteran who most recently led the Tennessee Department of General Services.

The Democratic nominee is Aftyn Behn who started her career as a social worker and is currently serving in the Tennessee state legislature.
