I've never been a big fan of Campbell's Soup

beyond the occasional can of tomato or chicken noodle soup on a cold snowy winter's afternoon but if this is their attitude, they literally are Soup Nazis

not that there's anything especially wrong with the soup. What's wrong with it is only what's wrong with most canned, ultraprocessed products - too much salt, HFCS, etc. I like the tomato soup, goes well with a grilled cheese sandwich. They need to fire the asshole, not the guy who outed him.

I refused to eat baby food, so my mother shoveled the soup into me until I was able to tolerate solid foods.

Now I avoid it and make my own soup or buy Panera soup from the grocery store. Campbell's has too much salt, tastes like the can it was in, and isn't an adequate meal. The bio-engineered chicken is disgusting, just the thought of it.

Martin Bally, the Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at Campbell Soup Company, has been suspended amid an internal investigation following allegations of making offensive comments about the company's products and customers. These comments were reportedly made during a recorded meeting with a former employee, where Bally allegedly described Campbell's products as "highly processed" and intended for "poor people," and made derogatory remarks about Indian employees.

The company has stated that such language does not reflect their values and is unacceptable.

I burned a lot of calories in that era, and BWB usually did the trick for not a lot of $. I wasn't after complex flavors; I was after carbs, fat and protein.

Similar to using broth cubes, really. Just throw in more veggies and meat.

Growing up, my mom also used the cream of celery as a base for clam chowder.

Outside of that, finicky child eaters. I still get nostalgic for a can of tomato soup with a grilled cheese. And on cold winter afternoons, a can of mushroom soup - boiling hot - in a mug makes me feel like an eight year old again.

But yeah. It's just hypertension in a can for adults.

think about the rest of us. We're suckers, losers, etc. I guess they have a point. We aren't for the most part critical thinkers, and that is the ultimate source of our misfortune. Until we realize it, though, we must continue to be dominated by men like this.

She loathed cooking so anything that was easy was what she gave us. I wonder if it’s always been junk or if just recently the unhealthy ingredients were discovered. I don’t buy it myself. Tastes like processed goo.

And this so- called executive sounds like a bigoted asshole.

filling and giving out bags of food for people in the community who have come upon hard times. I sorted hundreds of cans of vegetables and soups. Perhaps their executives hire cooks to simmer homemade delicacies in their mansions, but if they were hungry enough, I’m sure they would eat the canned soup and be damned happy to have it.

On the chicken side…for easy quick usually lunch meals, mom made Mrs. Grass chicken noodle soup with the ‘golden egg’. Campbell’s was not allowed in the house.

The only I get and use, is when a recipe called for it. And as a matter of fact, I never really got into eating canned soups for lunch/dinner, just didn't get into it, and plus, you can make soup so easily anyways by throwing leftovers, etc. all into a crock pot or whatever, and cooking away.

As for Campbell's, I will occasionally buy a can of their Chunky soup. It's a rare treat because its sodium content is like ingesting a salt lick.

much to my mother's chagrin. She would always say "there's no nutritional value in that shit."

Haven't had it in years. There are a lot of things I ate in my younger days that I wouldn't touch now.

Latest thing I heard is that that executive was fired.

to making actual chicken gumbo!

Started out with the box mixes, now use just a 'gumbo base' mix and add all my own ingredients--
chicken, brown rice, tomatoes, lots of okra slices, onions, corn, minced garlic, lots of red pepper,
green pepper if I have any,
peppercorns and sometimes a good dash of liquid smoke!

I like to bake corn muffins to eat with it.

I make a huge batch, the remainder going into freezer containers which hold almost two normal size bowls each.
Usually end up with about 12 to 18 of those, depending on how big I make it, which go into the deep freezer.
Upon microwaving, I usually add a little water.

At one point I was adding pickled cactus to it, but upon reheating those
turned into hard little things formerly known as cactus, so that ingredient was discontinued.

Us REALLY poor people usually go for the generic labeled soup-- which is cheaper.
Truth be known, much of it is actually manufactured by Campbell's as well...
