TX-34: Vicente Gonzalez officially announces re-electiont
BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) U.S. Rep. Vicente Gonzalez, D-McAllen, on Tuesday announced he will be seeking another term to represent the 34th Congressional District of Texas.
Gonzalez was first elected in 2023 to represent the 34th District, which covers parts of Hidalgo and Willacy counties, and all of Cameron County.
Gonzalez previously represented Texass 15th Congressional District from 2017 to 2022, and is currently serving his fifth term in the U.S. Congress.
South Texans are facing the harsh reality of an extreme Republican agenda that caters to the wealthiest few while driving up everyday costs and pushing affordable health care out of reach for hundreds of thousands of families, Gonzalez said in a news release. We dont need hyper-partisan mouthpieces whose only concern is to rubber-stamp these policies making your life harder; we need commonsense solutions. Serving the 34th Congressional District of Texas is an honor of a lifetime. That is why I am once again asking for your support to protect Social Security and Medicare, and deliver billions of dollars to repair our roads, improve drainage, and invest in our public schools.
