Mrs. Betty Bowers explains in simple terms that even a child could understand.

The draft dodging idiot posted a pic of this West Point plaque. It contains these words:

“Our American Code of Military Obedience requires that, should orders and the law ever conflict, our officers must obey the law.”

That is precisely what Senator Mark Kelly told officers to do. #NoSedition

This reminds me of this famous quote attributed to Louis XIV, the French king, when he was challenged by his parliament -" L'etat c'est moi" (The state is me) Trump no doubt sees himself as a king.

for any official act, any order he gives is therefore lawful? Not saying I agree with that but
today's SCOTUS may actually agree with Trump.

Obviously not a lawyer so I had to keep pulling threads the further I went into it.

The executive summary is that it's a shit sandwich.
Mango Mussolini has immunity from criminal conviction in the performance of his duties. Not anyone else.

So when it comes to refusing to follow orders you believe are illegal, it's always going to be something that will have to be worked out after the fact.
Example: I am your commander and order you to do thing x and you truly believe that order is illegal. I tell you it is legal because it came from our president. You say "no, it's illegal" I release you from your duties, likely go to the brig and face a general court martial hearing.
But the proof is completely on the (soldier, airman, sailor or marine) to prove their case as to why it's illegal.
If they are wrong, they could get kicked out of the military, demoted or jailed or all three

If they are right, it was illegal but do it anyway, then they could be put on trial for crimes against humanity later.

Like I said, shit sandwich.

The immunity means, I believe, only that he can’t be criminally prosecuted for giving an otherwise unlawful order, or for committing a crime if he is acting within the scope of his duties.

"When the president does it, that means it is not illegal." The SCOTUS confirmed Nixon's statement when it comes to Trump.

is the worst decision ever made by the court. It gave free reign for the orange turd to do any evil his heart desires. I guess the court never heard this is supposed to be a country with no man above the law. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Pam Blondie has the plaque indicted for contradicting the orange shit stain.
