The "If it was 29 points, Point #29 would be Alaska goes to Russia" plan whittled down signficantly
U.S. and Ukrainian negotiators in Geneva have drafted a new 19‑point peace framework, but left the most contentious issues including territorial questions and NATOs role for Presidents Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky to decide, according to Ukraines deputy foreign minister.
Trump said on social media earlier that big progress may be underway in peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, striking a cautiously optimistic tone while warning supporters not to believe it until you see it and that "something good just may be happening." His remarks come as U.S. and Ukrainian negotiators continue discussions over a contentious American‑drafted plan to end the war.
The early draft called for Ukraine to cede territory, reduce its military, and rule out NATO membershipprovisions widely rejected in Kyiv.
Finlands President Alexander Stubb warned major issues remain unresolved, while Germanys foreign minister said NATO-related restrictions were removed from the latest draft.
