Trmp is in a hurry to pardon Putin's attempted annexation of Ukraine so he can get busy annexing Venezuela.

Maybe Greenland after that. But he knows he can't credibly criticize Putin while he's engaged in a Putinesque program himself. None of that matters to the truly indoctrinated MAGAts, but at some level he is actually conscious of the fact that he can't do something that is objectionable to a large enough majority of voters.

He sees this Ukraine "thing" as an item on a checklist. In his mind, he wants it wrapped up by Wednesday so he can get on Air Force One and spend the holiday at Mar-A-Largo doing what he wants.
