One of the current senators from Georgia -- Jon Ossoff, Democrat -- came in second to the Republican candidate in the 2020 general election then won by one percentage point in the runoff. I suspect Greene thinks she can beat Ossoff without Trump's aid in 2026.

Hardly much of a motivation for somebody who’s a multimillionaire already. Contrary to what I seem to read all over the place here, members of Congress do not draw a pension equal to their salary. It’s a calculation based on years of service and their base pay — which she can’t begin collecting until she’s 62.
