he's pulling the guy over and then illegally extends the stop to get a K-9 patrol. Then the handler creates a signal for the dog to hit so they can detain the guy and rip up his truck looking for drugs. The license plate readers, street cams, location tracking on your phone and facial recognition software are all things that have ramped up in recent years.

(17,322 posts)you're not recording them.
I have a dash cam in my trucks and my POV's, that way everything is documented if I get pulled over.
I had a TN. Highway Patrol officer actually tell me that it's illegal to film him without his written consent, which, of course, is a blatant lie, his supervisor arrived and set him straight, I also filed a complaint against this trooper and received a letter from the head of their internal affairs stating that my complaint was validated and the trooper received a letter of reprimand and had to take a class on Constitutional rights.
Like I said, always film the cops, they may tell you that they're recording too, but their recordings tend to get "lost".

(8,516 posts)"relieve me" of cash that I supposedly never had, I've been stopped at night after working a double shift and ordered out of my vehicle and immediately hit in the face with a spotlight and told to walk to them on a gravel shoulder and then harangued about why I was "unsteady" while walking to them while blinded. I've had them stop me and accuse me of hauling stolen freight because the BOL was handwritten instead of being typed. I've had them stop me and claim I was suspicious because I had a full load leaving the toll booth and was winding out each gear before shifting just like my old school self has always done. I've been stopped when bob-tailing and had the cops claim they were going to write me a ticket because I didn't have a rear license plate. I've been pulled over on the pretext that my trailer taillights were out but when I walked to the back with cop for him to show me they were all working fine.
I could list a bunch more if I really sat and thought hard to remember. But when you've been driving professionally for the better part of 60 years you're likely to have your share of stories to tell and some are way back in the mind.

(17,322 posts)they will try every trick in the book to get you to incriminate yourself, the best thing to do is tell them you don't answer questions without your attorney present, this will usually let them know that you do know your civil rights and are exercising them and make sure you're filming them.
Keep on truckin road warrior.
On edit: I'm not anti-cop, I'm anti bad cop.
