It's even worse then we thought at the time.
Talking about Russia, Trump suddenly exclaimed, But why cant you guys in Nato join us in Korea? Theyre developing nuclear weapons, and thats something we cant accept.
A couple of months earlier, North Koreas leader, Kim Jong-un, had declared that preparations for the testing of an intercontinental nuclear missile were now in their final stage; this announcement was followed by the firing of medium-range missiles, which landed in the Sea of Japan. So Trump bringing up North Korea wasnt completely out of the blue. But I was unsure as to what he meant. Did he want Nato to intervene in North Korea?
Mr President, all the allies are concerned about the nuclear weapons, but I dont think there will be any support for bombing North Korea, I said.
But youre in Afghanistan. Why cant you be in North Korea? he replied, before the conversation swiftly moved on. We touched on terrorism and Islamic State, of course, with Trump declaring, We have to kill them, we have to bomb them, theyre really evil people.

It's all downhill from there.

Or whenever he said something totally stupid (like this example) somebody was there to fluff it over and change the subject.
But in this term all those people are GONE. There's nobody to filter his insane, ignorant remarks, AND the press is hearing all of it. They aren't printing it, but they are recording it and keeping track. They all know he's crazy and there's no way to deny it.
These reporters and pundits will all write books later about the crazy insanity of Chump's 2nd term. Long story short - he's been like this all along, but we weren't hearing the crazy stories before.
