I've seen (pictures of) c.1899 French brothels that had more tasteful decor.

Guess he's never heard the famous Mies van der Rohe maxim: "Less is more".

7. Next serious president, if we're so lucky as to get one, should resist the urge to remodel, and live elsewhere

This phenomenon requires study. Much as I hate it, there is an aspect of humanity which admires and respects the holders of such opulence and carelessness, and it must be recognized and understood for what it is. Dark Triad leadership of a powerful nation constitutes an existential threat to the entire biosphere. Humanity must learn to spot it from a safe distance if life is to continue. Turn that defiled space into a public museum, a monument to degrading travesties, so people from all walks of life can forever learn the consequences of letting such predators run loose in society, without having to make the same mistakes again themselves.

Or not. We can all just instead. Wouldn't be the first time evolution had to start over from scratch.

It does require study. I don't know about living elsewhere, but I like the idea of a future president saying, "Oh God I don't want to live in a bordello."
