which truly pisses me off (spitting nails when I saw it)...like the OP, I'm a retired lifer (only 23 years though) with 10 in the crew's Mess and 13 in the Wardroom and went through more than enough circus shows but nothing like what I saw yesterday...never had to deal with a Presidential visit (did escort the British Queen up the coast in '83 but that that was a unique exercise of theater)...never discussed politics in a group setting and only rarely with close shipmates...only heard the oorah when serving with the Marines, never in my part of the haze gray navy...the gathering of flag officers showed how it should have been done...we are in a cascading casualty situation now (lots of pegged gauges and blinking red lights)...cheers, OSD
