It's about Freedom; the oil is just a coincidence

The Trump Administration is determined to have themselves a war. Instead of WMD, it is now "drugs". The fact that both Iraq and Venezuela have massive oil deposits is just one of those "coincidences". Right?

Since then it's been an ongoing battle between Venezuela and these foreign interests for control of their oil reserves and the profits. The conflict worsened when Chavez (and later Maduro) came to power. Now Trump and his Big Oil backers would love nothing more than a return to the good old days.
