Re Hegseth calling secret meeting of Generals from around world

Last edited Thu Sep 25, 2025, 05:49 PM - Edit history (4)

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is causing headaches after demanding that top U.S. military officials descend on Virginia from around the world for a meeting.

Hegseth, who wants to go by his preferred moniker “secretary of war,” has called for hundreds of generals and admirals to attend, even though he has not specified the meeting’s purpose and scheduled it at extremely short notice, according to The Washington Post.

........

“People are very concerned. They have no idea what it means,” one person familiar with the matter told the Post.

“You don’t call GOFOs [General Officers/Flag Officers] leading their people and the global force into an auditorium outside D.C. and not tell them why/what the topic or agenda is,” another unnamed source added.

"The Post suggested that the meeting, which comes just ahead of a looming government shutdown, could touch on plans to shift homeland defense to the nation’s top priority, replacing a years-long suggestions that China poses the greatest national security risk to the U.S."

Perhaps we should be concerned?

...one of the fed depts where staffers are going under the lie detector?

That and a loyalty oath would make short work.

This reminds me of when companies want to do mass layoffs, they call an off-site meeting to deliver the news. Then if they are allowed to return to their cubes, they're given a cardboard box, and ten supervised minutes to gather belongings.

Yes generals and admirals fly in from all over the world.
If they don't take the oath, pass the lie detector test, their offices
will be vacated and they will not return to them.

It is possible while they are in DC with Hegseth, their offices, computers,
etc will be searched.

I hope they all cleaned out everything before they left.

Kinda tough to do that if your residence had been on a base in a far-away country.

A particularly chilling detail is that it's anyone with even one star. Who's left minding the fort? (Anyone seen "Big Balls" lately?)

Maybe I am totally misremembering this.

And yes, there is no one minding the store.
Second string is in charge with no official power to make any decisions.

If an enemy strikes now it is very bad.

He would not need to call the generals and admirals in Europe or Asia for example, only the central command in charge of this part of the world.
I think its more ominous. They are staging a coup and want to assess who is loyal and who is not.

It could be a crapshoot to determine who gets to Quantico first: His hundreds of generals and military personnel vs. Hurricane Imelda. It's still early, but tonight's local Charleston, SC, forecasts are prepping Charleston for a possible Imelda visit on Monday or Tuesday. Depending on direction and velocity, Charleston to Quantico won't be a major gap to cover. Is that the plan? Invite them all to Quantico to be wiped out by a natural disaster?

I've always contended that God is a Democrat.

1. He intends to decapitate the entire military leadership and replace them all with MAGA loyalists similar to DOJ.

2. He plans on reassigning them to domestic roll in a continued effort to turn the military against the American people.

3. A massive foreign invasion is planned. Possible to a place like Venezuela.

4. He wants to show them his tattoos.

Sure 4 is kind of sarcastic but when you have an idiot like this running the military something like this is also a possibility.

Remember, *rump and Hegseth have both complained there's too many stars in the military..."We won WWII with only a dozen or so Generals and Admirals according to the History Channel!"
Hegseth thinks he only needs 100 loyal flag officers to control his "Department of War"; he knows he can't control 800.
On edit. The Project 2025 plan for the military is to "strengthen it" through privatization, "just in time" contracted logistics - and conscripted forces. Like third world countries do.
The "Professional Military" will be run like a more heavily armed mercenary policing force that will eventually use AI, unmanned platforms, and specialized combat forces to enforce Nationalist Hegomony.
Because to enforce an Authoritarian regime, the amount of people that have autonomy and privilege needs to be small...
