Non-gun person question

I am a 65 year old Jewish woman from Brooklyn. We lived in the city, we don't hunt or fish. We were decidedly NOT gun people. I actually have never fired a gun, so I'm genuinely curious.
Is writing messages on shells a typical thing? It seems weird to me that all of a sudden people are writing political messages on bullets.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, 😆

newsreels.

A gun is a tool, not good or bad in itself. How it is used is good or bad. Writing messages on bullets is the act of a child.

without an engraving machine. Those things aren't really very big so nobody is putting hand written manifestos on their cartridges. The manufacturer has information about the ammo stamped on the bottom of the cartridge. Maybe the Trumpers are claiming those are coded messages.

You can't "write" on a bullet that size. Maybe a shotgun shell casing with a Sharpie, but not a bullet which is too small at the end.

I think this story going around is unfounded. Like you said, the stupid trumpers probably thought whatever was on the bottom of the bullet had a secret meaning.

I am not a teenager. but I really like this slang word I learned this year.

The first time I saw it was a kid at a protest w/ a sign that read: "Trump is sus".

The shooters are doing it themselves.

An obvious "look at me" play.

It's like robbing a bank and leaving business cards behind.

Even ancient armies stamped or carved symbols on stones before battle. The trend seems to be coming back.

For the Kirk shooter and today's shooter, the only evidence of this happening is statements by the DOJ & FBI. They have every reason to lie.
