Joe Rogan defends Kimmel and tells conservatives supporting censorship: 'Oh my God, you're crazy'

Right-leaning podcaster Joe Rogan has chimed in on the suspension of late night host Jimmy Kimmel amid pressure from the Trump administration, saying the government should not determine what comedians say and that conservatives were “crazy” to support any such interference.

Disney’s ABC last week took Jimmy Kimmel’s late night talk show off the air over his comments about the suspected killer of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. But his show returned on Tuesday night, ending a nearly weeklong standoff that has raised questions about free speech and the First Amendment.

Rogan was an influential supporter of President Donald Trump during the 2024 campaign.

“I definitely don’t think that the government should be involved ever in dictating what a comedian can or cannot say in a monologue,” Rogan said on his podcast.

He said that if such interference were really happening and conservatives were supporting such behavior they were “crazy” because eventually they themselves would be the target of such censorship.

He knows he cold be next. He's criticized the orange shitgibbon on occasion himself---not often, but he has. So take your support where you can!

I also think they'll get behind cover for a few weeks, and then try a new tac to test out their freedom reduction policies. I doubt Mr. trump can let this one go too easily, the ridicule targeting him from comedians is one of the last forceful tools working against him. I'm guessing the news/entertainment argument will get a few tweaks to it and another entertainer will bear the brunt of the next assault.

By NOT defending the 1st Amendment. The reichwing party only thinks it is wrong because in the future it can happen to them.

If it's wrong it is wrong. And it is wrong because the 1st Amendment is more important than any of the other Amendments. Free Speech is not something to toy around with.

He states it like he’d be fine if it silenced those he doesn’t like, but it’s not fine because it might silence him someday. As if the first amendment itself is t worth defending.

And what’s his “if that’s what’s happening” nonsense? It’s what’s happening Joe. How much more do you need than the president to say “Kimmel is next” after they got Colbert kicked off the air?

Fallon and Meyers were next on his silencing of his critics.

And the right doesn't consider how wrong that is? Silencing your critics because they make fun of you isn't the reason to silence someone, especially thin skinned man babies. He hates people who mock and laugh at him. Poor little thin skinned man baby!

Nobody likes me
Everybody hates me
Guess I'll go eat worms (watch out Bobby brain worm)
Big, fat, juicy ones
Long, thin, slimey ones
Itsy bitsy, fuzzy wuzzy worms
Down goes the first one
Down goes the second one
Oh, how they wiggle and squirm!

I wonder how many jokes Rogen make about Obama and he didn't experience any blowback. I don't recall Obama or Biden limiting Free Speech because they made fun of them.

Trump will not stop, he already got Colbert removed as a condition for having a merger approved, he'll find another way to get his critics off the air.
