A growing number of Republicans are speaking out against Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr and his comments threatening to take action against Disneys ABC last week, following the assassination of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), appearing Sunday on NBCs Meet the Press, called Carrs threats absolutely inappropriate.
If youre losing money, you can be fired, Paul said. But the governments got no business in it. And the FCC was wrong to weigh in. And Ill fight any attempt by the government to get involved with speech.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), the chair of the Senate Commerce Committee, which has oversight over the FCC, likened Carrs comments to threats made by a mob boss.
I gotta say thats right out of Goodfellas, the senator said, referring to the 1990 mob movie. Thats right out of a mafioso going into a bar and saying, Nice bar you got here. Itd be a shame if something happened to it.

It is not.
It is two GOP Senators griping and taking no action.
