Jimmy Kimmel's late-night show will return to ABC's airwaves on Tuesday, nearly a week after it was pre-empted amid criticism of the host's remarks about the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

"Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country," the Walt Disney Company said in a statement Monday. "It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive."

"We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday," Disney added.

The network pulled the show Wednesday after Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr threatened to revoke ABC affiliate licenses over Kimmel’s comments, which he described in a podcast interview as “the sickest conduct possible.”

Rather than some "kinder, softer" silenced Kimmel. I hope he rips the shit out of everyone. Colbert and Stewart can dogpile on.

Of course Disney probably made a generous donation to the “library”, so maybe they’ll just move on.

How about something like “we fucked up. We should’ve told that orange obscenity to pound sand.”

Sides don't have to apologize. Before Disney was asking Jimmy to do that.

That ship has sailed for the remainder of 2025. Corporate needs to FEEL the impact of their mistake on the only thing they truly give a fuck about - quarterly earnings. The lesson? DO NOT SIDE WITH DICTATORS AND SURRENDER THE RIGHTS OF AMERICANS WITHOUT A FIGHT.

I can easily see a future where I NEVER go back to them if they fail to learn and intenralize this truth - The Freedom of the Press and Speech are the most fundamental freedoms for Americans of all stripes. That can NEVER be compromised or taken away to placate anyone for any reason.
