If Kimmel was told he could come back and continue his show, should he?

I have mixed feelings about this issue. I want the FCC to cave and I want Jimmy to get an offer from them to come back to his show with an apology from the FCC and Disney. I also want Jimmy to say "fuck off!" and "I will NOT tone it down" as they request of him.

What should his next move be?

There's a lot of other people who worked on that show for a lot less money. They lost their jobs too.

It would be great for him to thumb his nose at ABC and leave and perhaps move to cable tv. The only problem with that is a lot of people don't get cable, especially now that inflation is so bad. If he stays on network tv, more people have access to his voice, which is critical, especially now - but that depends on whether he is free to speak his mind.

It's quite a dilemma.

i want to see him back ...as long as he is not required to apologize, his return to late night is a slap in the face to trump, carr etc.
his return tells citizens that the first amendment still stands. i'd like to see disney apologize, i don't think that will happen but that is secondary to getting a feisty jimmy kimmel back.

He should go around the country doing rally's. I bet people would line up to see and support him, and it would drive trump crazy 🤪

He needs to get off network altogether. It will never get any better in a police state. Just more fear and intimidation coming his way if he stays on network TV.

Where will he have the most influence? That’s what he should do.

If he returns, millions of people will be watching him every night. Including the angry ones who couldn’t get him fired.

Resist!

These guys have contracts and they get paid to the end of the contract even if the network cancels the show. He quits, no paycheck.

That condition being that no new conditions would be placed on his return. The show would continue just as it did before Disney went all goofy on him. No nebulous "tone it down" edicts based on whether or not King Taco's bowels got in an uproar. No constraints on material, other than the normal "standards and practices" boilerplate which he and his writers were already following. Just as if he'd taken a short hiatus.

His return alone would be a slap in Krasnov's fugly face. If they've got the nerve. (Which, to be honest, I don't think they do.)

...that CBS will "uncancel" a show that is losing money.

Late night "comedy" is dying, and has been for awhile - too many other options.

Snopes says maybe the show was losing money, but all reports only cited anonymous sources, his show just won an Emmy, and if people aren’t watching late night network tv, they sure as fuck are watching online episodes and clips.

I remain skeptical.

He is probably weighing things that we don't know about.
He is concerned about the effect on his staff and he has a large staff, the writers, camerapersons, and others I can't even think of.
