Trump's weasel SS Commissioner "walks back" his interest in raising the retirement age after blowback

https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/social-security-chief-walks-back-232051718.html

In an interview with Fox Business, host Maria Bartiromo asked Bisignano if he’d consider increasing the age for full federal retirement benefits, which currently stands at 67.

“I think everything’s being considered and will be considered,” he said.

Bisignano noted that any change recommended by Social Security trustees — a group that also includes Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — would need congressional approval.

The Social Security Administration walked back his comments in an afternoon post on X.

“Let me be clear: President Trump and I will always protect, and never cut, Social Security. That’s why we have made many vital reforms, such as cutting waste, fraud, and abuse from the program, to ensure the solvency of Social Security for future generations of Americans,” the statement from Bisignano said.

He accidentally told the truth and got slapped down.
They so badly want to cut SS, especially SSI & SSDI. How else could they exercise cruelty?

2025 was the year to focus on her "We're all going to die" debacle, but somewhere late in Trump's first term she also took heat for saying Republicans needed to go behind closed doors, away from media scrutiny, and "fix" Social Security.

And sure, they really want to do it...they just don't want to hear about it afterwards. So they think raising the retirement age is a "backdoor" that will keep the pressure off of them, until it leaks to the public, and they find out that this really IS "the third rail of politics," and if they go the distance on it, they WILL get fried for it.

It's an EARNED BENEFIT. All of the debate over SNAP and Medicaid doesn't apply here. People get SS and Medicare BECAUSE THEY PAID INTO THE SYSTEM, and yet, Republican still look down their noses as they spit out the words "ENTITLEMENT SYSTEM" with pure Ayn Rand-ian disgust.

And we all know that Rand died while receiving Social Security and Medicare benefits.
