A Yale University poll released earlier this year found that among Democrats, Ocasio-Cortez boasts the single highest net favorability rating (62%) of all the partys many potential 2028 presidential candidates.
62%? Oh my, things have changed.
She's one of the few that have fought this oligarchy (the oligarchy tour with Bernie) that is about to form. The crowds and attention behind this is a huge plus for the party.
She is as very unique individual.

(6,691 posts)3. Good. I had no opinion on her when she was first elected, but she has since won my unreserved admiration.
I wish we could clone her.

Nominating AOC in 2028 would result in a landslide defeat for Democrats and take along with it as casualties, otherwise viable Democratic House and Senate candidates. Fortunately, I dont think shell win the 2028 nomination. As for me, Im focused on electing Democrats for the upcoming 2026 midterms.

I think he knows he has lost support for senate leadership, especially among the base. Hes also getting up there in age.
AOC will have a good shot, and is probably the early favorite for the nomination, but I think it could be a competitive primary. Im curious who else jumps in. Maybe Richie-Torres? Hochul?
