We need to advance what Jimmy Kimmel was trying to say.

The Right had demonized him by saying he said something cruel about Kirk, but the facts said otherwise. What he did was try to stop what is happening now, with the Right using Kirk's death to start an assault on the Left. All Jimmy did was try to point out how hard the MAGAs were trying to frame the shooter as anyone but them:

"We hit some new lows over the weekend, with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.

Not only did the Right succeed in keeping us from defending ourselves, but they're now trying to push Kirk up into the level of sainthood by keeping us from repeating his own quotes that paint him as anything but an Ideal American.

Bottom line, we need to pick up the banner dropped on the field and continue with the charge before they succeed in pushing whatever narrative suits their agenda.

Just my opinion.

And the only dispute can be around how that is defined. Jumping right to political ideology is unnecessary.

In my mind, the simplest interpretation is: a bully who thinks "might is right" and that the 2A entitles them to intimidate, threaten, and silence those with whom they disagree.

That, to me, sounds *exactly* like "one of them" -- regardless of their views on a myriad of other issues (eg, lgbtq+ etc).
