Kennedy's Vaccine Panel Votes to further Limit Access to Covid Shots

The federal vaccine committee appointed by Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. voted unanimously on Friday to further limit access to Covid vaccines, recommending that adults 65 and older receive the shots only after discussing the potential benefits and risks with a health care provider.

The panel also said that everyone from 6 months to 64 years old could get the vaccine after consulting with a provider. But it was unclear whether that contradicted the Food and Drug Administration’s authorization of the shots only for adults over 65 and younger people with certain health conditions.

Together, the decisions raise questions about whether Americans can continue to walk into their neighborhood pharmacies for routine vaccinations or whether in some states they will first need a doctor’s permission.

The votes came on the second meeting day of a committee that was hurriedly assembled by Mr. Kennedy. Most of the panelists are first-time members, and their inexperience seemed to contribute to the confusion that marred both days of the meeting. About half of the committee members were appointed to the panel earlier this week.

7. Why do they even want to?

They said this was about freedom.
When there was a mandate, there was the problem of the disease being contagious.
The claimed dangers of vaccinations are not contagious. So if we want to die of a vaccine, it's our business.

Got them yesterday for the same reason; there’s no telling what RFK will do next.

And alerted our friends that this was coming.

On a busy corner near me, the CVS on the corner had a poster at the intersection stating they were taking walk-ins for COVID Vax. Some idiot slapped a “vaccines kill” sticker on the poster.

I can’t with these people anymore.

6. How can doctors provide the onslaught of people

coming in for consultations along with their regular clientelle? Vaccines and/or other services will be put off months.
Some won't be able to afford the doctor appointments. Most of the doctors will just say. "Vaccines are safe, Covid dangerous, get the vaccine." So RFKjr will have to write a script. Maybe require recordings or government staff to witness to make sure it's really done properly....or maybe set up his own people to do the counselling....this is where it's headed unless he relents.

8. You'll get a prescription to take to the pharmacy to get the vaccination -

or they will give it at the doctor's office.

After you pay for an office visit . . . just like all of the folks who need pain medication (or anything broadly tossed into that class of medications). It is a penalty for being younger than 65, just like the added cost of office visits is an added penalty for living with chronic pain.

10. Not younger than 65. "adults 65 and older receive the shots only after discussing the potential benefits and risks. .."

I assume if they wanted to require a prescription they could have specifically articulated that. Instead, they chose to require a “discussion” with a health care provider.

12. Thanks for the heads up - it is actually halfway between what you said and what I said -

Over 65 it is recommended that they have a discussion; under 65 it is required.

But you are right about the prescription - apparently they declined to require a prescription for under 65 . . . but I'll bet most states require one anyway in order to comply with the recommendation.
