(1,846 posts)When folks talk about AOC, they talk in terms of what does she know, see he is only a bartender. I think they tend to forget, the bar part was to put herself through school. I believe Amy said AOC was very smart and I believe was getting a degree in economics. She noted you never hear someone refer go her in that way.

If drinks are not mixed properly, customers are not coming back.
Also, aside from politics, imagine all the recipes she must be able to keep track of.
A waitress has to remember everyone's orders. I can't do that.
I can barely open a can and dump it in a pot, I'm no chef, or bartender, or chemist.
but to hear her speak, she says what I've been saying for decades.

(1,846 posts)Instead, she was arguing that instead of labeling her as a scholar, they label her as a bartender, which no matter how skilled, it does lot devote a highly educated person. It illustrated how they frame things and how misogynistic they are, using a lesser label. She is a bartender, not an educated representative. What can she know about government? Well, she is well educated on the economy, so maybe give her some credit!
