So tired of the fear-based requests for money from Democratic fundraising groups

I'm so tired of all the fundraising requests that are written in such negative terms, along the lines of "everything is lost if you don't contribute now!!!". There is enough anxiety about where this country is going; I don't need daily reminders.

I believe this topic has been discussed before on DU. With the current feeling of helplessness to stop Trump, I'd be far more likely to contribute if the wording were more positive and more hopeful. "We can do this! We're making progress in x,y,z. Please help us continue the fight!".

I've had to unsubscribe or create a rule to delete those fundraising messages that use fear as a motivator. I think it's the wrong approach, and I'm wondering if others feel the same? Would love to get the Democratic fundraisers to understand this. We need hope, not fear. We need to come from a place of strength, not "we're going to lose if you don't give us money!".

No action, no money.

I WANT FIGHTERS!

I got one this morning from (redacted) who failed to mention HIS DAMN PARTY.

I sent an "interesting" reply.

The request for money was from a legit source, but the "theme" was always along the same catastrophic lines. When I unsubscribed, I put in a comment about "why would I donate to something the requester has already essentially said is a lost cause? If my $3 can make or break it, then I'll send my money to something else that the organizers have more faith in."

This was a legit source, but the messaging was along the same line as scammers. One more reason not to word requests the same way scammers do.

And I am blocking any/all text requests for donations. I donate directly to candidates I think are sincere in their efforts. I will not respond to texts from anybody asking for money.

In your email settings. If something comes from a specific domain, for example, send it right to junk mail. If an email says the word Democrats or Republicans in it send it straight to your junk mail. Even if you Delete and Report these they will continue. The carriers like the traffic, and they charge you for it. Go on e try social media outlet you can and trash whoever sent it to you. It’s the only thing that might work. I spend an hour a day deleting and trashing anyway. The third party fundraisers don’t care anyway. Nothing will stop them. They’ll sell your info to another company.
