President Trump again threatens to deploy troops to Chicago, a move Mayor Johnson says would be 'unlawful'

President Trump again threatens to deploy troops to Chicago, a move Mayor Johnson says would be 'unlawful'

President Donald Trump Friday suggested that federal troops could be deployed to Chicago amid his efforts to crack down on crime, repeating a threat that both Gov. JB Pritzker and Mayor Brandon Johnson have said would be illegal.

During a news conference Friday in the Oval Office, Trump said Chicago could be next to receive federal intervention, similar to Washington, D.C., where nearly 2,000 National Guard troops have been deployed to address what his administration has described as a surge in violent crime, even though D.C. officials say crime is falling in their city.

“Chicago is a mess, you have an incompetent mayor, grossly incompetent, and we will straighten that one out next,” Trump said referring to Johnson. “That will be our next one after this, and it won’t even be tough.”

Unlike DC, this one is the test case. A "tomorrow the world" scenario.

If a POTUS federalizes the National Guard, the governor no longer commands them.

Also, let's say that Trump sends other states national guard's into the state of Illinois, the military chain of command would still apply. Meaning, that a Captain in the Tennessee National Guard still outranks a Lieutenant in the Illinois National Guard.

Will the mayor deploy the police to stop troops disembarking? Because anything short of such physical, possibly violent confrontation is futile. The courts may rule against Trump, but he'll ignore that while the case is appealled to the Supreme Court. By then the deed is done and boots are on the ground.

I’m curious how this is unlawful and the LA military invasion wasn’t?

Cause it sure seems as though Traitor got away with it in LA as that occupation is still happening. Why would Chicago play out differently?

(I know there’s a current court case that’s still ongoing where Newsom sued over the usurpation of his authority over the CA National Guard)

All of the White people protesting is throwing off the game. Brown people are being rounded up because there’s a bounty on their heads. When Black people hit the streets they can shoot rubber or real bullets, fill the streets with tear gas, bring out the tanks and declare Marshal Law. Old, White Hippies (As Master Stephen Miller calls them) are ruining his “murder by color” scheme.

Black brown and white people. He loves to think he is loved by everyone, even POC. Maybe some videos of people burning MAGA hats and signs will get his attention to leave us the hell alone.

There is little to stop him the Constitution and Supreme Court are effectively silent. All he has to do is to claim that there is a threat to public safety.
