May this portion of the dissent by Ketanji Brown Jackson haunt John Roberts forever and be the final word on his tenure as Chief Justice.

He's an apples/oranges poster who puts down this party as if it takes cases before the courts.

(41,514 posts)I realize Dems aren't perfect. It's this living WITH difference that makes the Party a big tent. Thanks for challenging my opinion.

If you had told me 30 years ago that Michael Luttig and Bill Kristol would have a clearer understanding about what's going on than a lot of Democratic leaders, I'd have wondered whether you tried the brown acid.

Luttig is communicating vastly more clearly and honestly about Roberts and Scotus than most Democratic officials are. Its absolutely flabbergasting."

I want to congratulate leading Democrats for their insistence on saying the takeover of DC is a stunt or a distraction.
Its a rare trifecta of intellectual failure, political stupidity, and moral obtuseness."

it is incredible to see the extent to which the Sensible Centrists are simply incapable of grasping the very simple and obvious fact that the president's concern with crime is a pretext, and that to deny claims of a sudden epidemic in crime is not to say that crime is nonexistent.

Anand is full of it. I go to DC a lot. The last time I was there, I stepped outside my hotel in DuPont Circle and there were gunshots across the park where a jewelry store was being robbed in broad daylight. On a previous visit, the car I was in almost got hit by a speeding stolen vehicle that was abandoned in the middle of the intersection.
A group of teenagers hopped out and fled police on foot. Near 14th street, also in broad daylight."

Reposting those who cast shade on Democrats is what leads me to think he's not a good faith critic of the party. Doesn't mean I can't trust him to vote with the party, but he's not exactly a constructive supporter, either.

(3,746 posts)I honestly didn't intend my question as a 'challenge'
We agree, it is indeed the Big Tent that defines our party!
It's just all to easy for me to miss context, which may oftentimes be best represented by better understanding the intent of the speaker.
Hence, my question.
I'm currently in the midst of gardening, afternoon errands and considering dinner fare.
I want to give as much care to the reading of your efforts as you have put into them.
Thank you in the first place for responding to the post, it's the only way that I gain the vantage point of others that have noticed things that were obscured from my view!
Our Top Pick Mississippi Pink Eye Purple Hulls and Zipper Cream Peas are filling our for next round of pickin' and we're definitely a grinnin'!

(2,170 posts)Didnt know SC justices were ever so directly critical of their peers.
Wish this would have an impact. But the leading papers will not report this story. The justice system is fracturing.
