MEDICARE...NOT Medicaid...faces $536 billion in cuts over nine years because of Trump's Big Bullsh*t Bill

Aug. 21, 2025, 2:49 PM EDT
By Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I.

An existing law called “sequestration” makes mandatory cuts when new laws explode the debt past a certain point. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has confirmed that the massive, $4 trillion debt explosion from the Beautiful-for-Billionaires Law will trigger sequestration starting next year, resulting in $536 billion in cuts to Medicare over nine years. Republicans aren’t talking about that — they don’t want you to know. The Medicare cuts can be undone if Congress passes a law to do that; Republicans chose not to do that in their Beautiful-for-Billionaires bill, setting up impending Medicare cuts that would be devastating.

Bradcast a couple of months ago. Apparently there is some hope that the Democratic politicians can extract some concessions from Republicans since programs that the Republicans like will face mandatory cuts too. It looks like a hell of a situation and mainstream media is just ignoring it.

someone will try the same, but don't know if it has any chance. trump didn't oppose the waiver in 2017, but he's an even bigger A-hole nowadays.
