The protests I have attended have included a range of ages. Lots of older people, too. They still count as citizens, consumers, and many still work to get by, or are raising grandchildren. Retirees and other seniors don't deserve to be discredited as being "not part of the city..." because they are still relevant.

Reminds me of when we were young and called "dirty hippies". Most of us probably are a bit cleaner now.
