So, Trump wants to take over D.C. and at least to me, it seems obvious why.

It's obvious he wants to increase and control the perimeter around the White House. Why? Because of the January 6th Insurrection, he knows how vulnerable it is to a massive assault.

And before you say, oh the Democrats would never be involved with a January 6th take over of a public building, my response: I don't think he's worried about the Democrats. I think he's worried about his MAGAs feeling betrayed by him on so many levels. And the Epstein files may set them off.

38% approval rating, and only 47% of Republicans would vote for him again if it turns out that he is in Epstein's pedo file as a customer or an accomplice.

He has a lot to be concerned about.

He's always hovered around 40%. His base is going to do what they always do if they find out the allegations of sex crimes against young girls are valid. They are going to rationalize the behavior and give some justification why even a pedophile is preferable to a Dem. There is no bottom to the depravity they will accept from this man and his party.

9. I suppose Trump is capable of confusing the White House with the Capitol
Mon Aug 11, 2025, 09:49 AM
Aug 11

But the fact is that Jan. 6, 2021 was an assault on the Capitol, which has a massive area around it, and it was very poorly defended (since nothing like Jan. 6 had ever happened, no one counted on it happening then. The White house has a far smaller perimeter, and has a massive defense system (obviously not visible to the casual visitor) in place. The team defending the White House is not the same as the Capitol Police. They will not hesitate to shoot uninvited intruders, no matter their number. It's a different job description.

I think Trump wants to take over D.C. simply in order to prevent embarrassing anti-Trump demonstrations, which will probably be quite plentiful the longer he hangs around. We shouldn't forget that his priorities and worries differ vastly from ours. His lawyers and Pam Bondi may be able to prevent him from seeing jail time, but they can't prevent the world press from reporting that a quarter million Americans turned out to protest their own head of state. It's hard for us to imagine that someone would worry more about embarrassment and bad PR than incarceration, but I think that is the mentality we are looking at.

It is plausible that those who were crazy enough to attack the Capitol would just as easily repeat the strategy, but target the White House. With Drones, high walls are no longer a deterrent.

Where he replied to reporters' questions with the word "missiles" and made a motion like a projectile firing from the roof of the structure. Considering what is observable about his behavior, statements and what comes to pass, I wonder what "missiles" signifies. Is that indicative of a deep-seated desire? Does he want a mini-Iron Dome around his palace?

Every time he goes into a "tariff negotiation," they see someone who doesn't have the support of his own people.

Yet this action makes it even more obvious he is losing power and influence.

New York City would be a massive undertaking due to the sheer numbers of residents there, how long-lasting and deep the hatred of Trump is there, plus the local culture that doesn't shy away from bristling and confrontation.

Baltimore would be easier to control for size reasons. And he named them when reeling off the list at the podium.

I also think Chicago is a prime candidate for numerous reasons. They are a historic Democratic stronghold. Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker has been effective at jabbing Trump and is helping stymie Trump's plans for Texas redistricting. Plus, Chicago is considered the home base of the Obamas. I think for all those reasons, it makes the Windy City a likely choice.

probably because somebody on the GOP cocktail circuit got offended because a homeless guy was seen sleeping in a good neighborhood. Horrors!

So of course there will be lawsuits and he will lose them but in rhe meantime, US citizens who are the victims of Republican and "fiscal conservative" policies over the last 56 years will be made even more miserable.

Of course, the one I'm waiting for is when he decides to turn DC into a "white" city and jacks up property taxes on the east side of town to remove the "criminal element," ie anyone with dark skin.
