I could only last 60 seconds or so. When he stands there, clasping his hands in front of himself like some good little shit that was it. It's all I could stand, can't stand no more. Not quite sure why I was willing to even even open the video. Must be into self torture today or maybe I thought if I could stand that I could stand anything trump was up to. Nope, I'm just not that strong...or that much of a masochist.

I used to love Village People also. Times have changed and so have they. Once they were authentic and had fun with themselves and the world. Now they are just a tired old act, shilling for the world’s biggest fraudster. That makes me sad.

...or these cursed "Interesting Times."

From Quote Investigator...

Excerpt...

May you live in interesting times.
May you live in an interesting age.
May you live in exciting times.

Snip...

Reply from Quote Investigator: Fred R. Shapiro who is the editor of “The Yale Book of Quotations” has noted that: “No authentic Chinese saying to this effect has ever been found”1. In addition, Ralph Keyes stated in “The Quote Verifier” that nobody has ever been able to confirm the Chinese origin claim.2

The earliest strong match known to QI appeared in a March 1936 newspaper report in “The Yorkshire Post” of West Yorkshire, England. The expression was used in a speech by an influential British statesman. Boldface has been added to excerpts:3

Sir Austen Chamberlain, addressing the annual meeting of Birmingham Unionist Association last night, spoke of the “grave injury” to collective security by Germany’s violation of the Treaty of Locarno.

Sir Austen, who referred to himself as “a very old Parliamentarian,” said:—

“It is not so long ago that a member of the Diplomatic Body in London, who had spent some years of his service in China, told me that there was a Chinese curse which took the form of saying, ‘May you live in interesting times.’ There is no doubt that the curse has fallen on us.”

“We move from one crisis to another. We suffer one disturbance and shock after another.”

considered "dancing"? He just stands there, bending one arm and then bending the other one over and over. The title should be "Trump bends his arms with The Village People." No offense intended to you, CTyankee.

A trained monkey could dance better than that. Hell, a dead monkey could dance better than that.

Is there anything in this world that man isn't lousy at?

Trump was hanging out in places like Studio 54, trying to be cool, when disco was big.

He seems to have imprinted on those days, not just for music, but standards of beauty, interior decorating, etc.

It's envy.

Happy Pride, regardless of what he tries to claim as his.

In the community, we're on tenterhooks to see what the Supreme Court is going to do with the Skrmetti case (trans care for minors, which could affect us at any age).

Hopefully your granddaughter is past the age of worrying. She's blessed to have your support.

Happy Pride!

When I was listening to Rachel Maddow's Ultra podcast series, I learned about Warner Brothers' anti-Nazi activist history. (It may have been in Prequel, the book version -- I forget.) Part of the story she tells there was the basis for the 1939 film "Confessions of a Nazi Spy," about Jews going undercover in southern California to expose a Nazi spy ring. (True story.) Knowing (and believing) what was already going on for Jews in Germany, WB refused to abide by the restrictions on anti-Hitler content in the film code of the times. The film was a hit...and four months later, Germany invaded Poland. Riveting history.

🎶 "TACO" (to the tune of "YMCA&quot
(Verse 1)
Old Man, your tariffs are causing a mess,
Steel and cars, they cost more, no less.
Old Man, you're raising taxes on trade,
But the jobs and growth are starting to fade.
Oh, the markets are down, and the dollar's in pain,
Inflation's up, and it's all in vain.
Old Man, your policies are causing distress,
TACO's the reason for this economic mess.
(Chorus)
T-A-C-O, it's the tariff show,
T-A-C-O, watch the economy slow.
T-A-C-O, it's the tariff show,
T-A-C-O, watch the economy slow.
(Verse 2)
Old Man, your trade wars are causing a strain,
But the losses and costs are hard to explain.
Oh, the supply chains are breaking apart,
Consumers are feeling the rising cost chart.
Old Man, your tariffs are causing a mess,
TACO's the reason for this economic stress.
(Chorus)
T-A-C-O, it's the tariff show,
T-A-C-O, watch the economy slow.
T-A-C-O, it's the tariff show,
T-A-C-O, watch the economy slow.
