I live in Iowa, a rural state and ag state and the Republicans are killing us

I am sure all of you have read what our senator said this morning at a town hall.. she got lambasted about Medicaid and her response.. "well we all are going to die".. the compassion was overwhelming: facepalm:

But we are going to lose our rural hospitals because cutting Medicaid.. that is what supports those rural hospitals

the tariffs are going to kill our farms.. especially the family farms.. about 85 % of our land is farmed and that does not count packing houses etc..

The Republicans have been getting an earful at these town halls.. what a nightmare this has been for them

I think we all know what that means........All the Republican Politicians were mouthing off starting a month before the 2024 election, not caring what they said, as if they already knew they had the election in the bag with all their gerrymandering and voter registration corruption......as well as whatever Elon's work in computers did to help......

And the way they re trampling on their voters since the election, you must suspect that, in fact, they have all future elections corruptly rigged to automatically win, just like Putin does in Russia.

As Goebells? said during the Hitler Regime: Votes don't matter.......... what matters is WHO COUNTS THE VOTES.........

They stole elections from Two women who would have done great things for Americans. Instead, a dick-head stole two elections to do great things... for himself. He should be hung, and his body preserved and displayed for all to see for as long as America survives, as a reminder of how things can go wrong. His Crimes are Legion.

There is no bait-and-switch going on. A candidate/party's policy positions/actions are a package deal. You vote for either the entire Bucket X or the entire Bucket Y.

Repug policies are what farming communities and red states have consistently voted for many consecutive elections now.

What sort of fantasyland are the "I didn't vote for THIS" crowd living in?

As you note, most of them who take direct hits themselves will suffer through it, and find a way to blame the libs, some will do the I didn't vote for this thing at first, but will quickly regravitate back into the fold as the biases and hatred that put them there in the first place kicks in.

They have screeched about liberals for so long, in so many ways, the "middle" types have been programmed to think that there is something sketchy with the libs, too. Don't know what, but they default to "they both are the same" and then end up voting for some stupid thing the Rs are grasping at in the moment.

Racism and sexism drive so.much.of this.

Of course, many of the farmers think that the repukes will bail them out from tariffs bankruptcy again. But this time all the money going to the rich.

They are do stupid that they don't realize that NAFTA free trade allowed them to sell pork and corn in Mexico like never before. Green energy subsidies for Ethanol allowed them to sell crap tons of corn.

But the vulture capitalists will be happy to consolidate 90 percent of the remaining small farms into mega corporate plantation with basically serfs

They are:

Republicans, Independents, and the remainder place blame for hardships on either the Democrats or the Government, depending on who's in power. Currently voters are encouraged (by complicit media) to blame the Government. When Democrats are in power, no such exit ramp exists. It is all the Democrats fault.

Today I met a regretful Trump voter

We were swimming in the ocean and this fellow and his wife struck up a conversation with us. A very friendly guy. He's an American citizen living in Panama and his comments were striking.

"I feel Trump lied to me."
"He never said he was going to break the U.S. government."
"When did he become a fan of tariffs?"
"Trump sold us a bill of goods."
"My portfolio is in the shitter."
"I never expected him to be so stupid."
"I wish he would die already."

I politely told him that many people were in the "Find Out" phase and Vance wouldn't be any better. He laughed then said, "Still, things are better than if THAT WOMAN had won."

Hopeless. I just shook my head.

THAT WOMAN.
Hateful, misogynistic bastards.

Here's why they vote to sink their own fortunes down shitter.
AND OURS!

Heads stuck firmly up their asses.
