Has handed out 1.8 million meals since beginning operations earlier this week. All while also bypassing the Hamas controlled distribution system every other NGO says must be used.

(9,380 posts)This is a scam. GHF distributes the aid at four distribution sites, all located in Southern Gaza. No other NGOs are allowed to distribute aid. This manner of removimg people by making them move distances is considered a crime against humanity.

(1,966 posts)They want to control, and take, aid deliveries.
Do you have a problem with Gazans getting food without Hamas deciding who gets it?

(9,380 posts)Im just skeptical when the people who demand to control every apect of aid distribution are the same folks who have been blockading Gaza for over 20 years now.

From wikipedia: The restrictions on movement and goods in Gaza imposed by Israel date to the early 1990s.[1] After Hamas took over in 2007, Israel significantly intensified existing movement restrictions and imposed a complete blockade on the movement of goods and people in and out of the Gaza Strip.[2] In the same year, Egypt closed the Rafah border crossing.[3] The blockade's stated aims are to prevent the smuggling of weapons into Gaza and exert economic pressure on Hamas.[1] Human rights groups have called the blockade illegal and a form of collective punishment, as it restricts the flow of essential goods, contributes to economic hardship, and limits Gazans' freedom of movement.[2][4] The land, sea, and air blockade isolated Gaza from the rest of the occupied Palestinian territory and the world.[5] The blockade and its effects have led to the territory being called an "open-air prison".[6][7]
Furthermore, you might recall that Israel had a major campaign in Rafah in May, 2024. Most of Rafah and the Rafah Crossing were destroyed at this time. In March of this year, after peace talks with Hamas failed, Israel wrought an even more complete destruction upon Rafah. Theres really no infraestructure there to distribute aid through Rafah.

Otherwise there's bombs going off in the Sinai.
That's on them.
The point still stands Israel by themselves could not blockade a country they don't control all the borders

He said he was "proud of the work I oversaw, including developing a pragmatic plan that could feed hungry people, address security concerns about diversion, and complement the work of longstanding NGOs in Gaza."
But, he said, it had become "clear that it is not possible to implement this plan while also strictly adhering to the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence, which I will not abandon."

Israel also says that after Hamas is defeated, it will implement a plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump to relocate the territory's population outside Gaza, a proposal that has been widely condemned by international groups.

(1,966 posts)They have handed out almost 2 million meals.
When one side is Hamas, I think its ok to feed people in a non-neutral way. I think that's pretty much the idea.
Hamas can starve.

You know, ethnic cleansing.
That's the problem with this mysterious Foundation, whose funding source is still unknown. They ones that remain are cooperating with the "the starving people are our pawns" plan.

The lines of people getting food and cheering the American org there feeding them dont seem to mind.
There is a reason Hamas is trying every way possible to stop the GHF. It threate s their grip on Gazans.

(103,775 posts)I also notice the JPost article includes a picture of the "Rahma Worldwide" logo on the aid.
Images distributed by GHF this week showed shipments bearing a label from Rahma Worldwide, which is based in Michigan, as part of its first distribution of food to sites inside Gaza. The rollout was marred by scenes of chaos on Tuesday after crowds overran one distribution centre managed by GHF and Israeli forces said they had fired warning shots. Gaza health officials said at least one civilian had been killed and 48 injured in the incident.
...
Unable to get the food in, Rahma had allowed the containers to be taken custody by GHF. Rahma added, however, that it had refused to allow its personnel to take part in the distribution because of GHFs use of armed security contractors.
We noticed images of our food boxes with logo being distributed without Rahmas direct involvement, the group said in a statement. Rahma did not authorise such distribution, and none of our team was permitted to participate in this process.
...
We stipulated that the Rahma logo be removed from the aid parcels, said Dr Shadi Omar Zaza, the head of Rahma. To our surprise, the organisations logo was not removed, and the security company distributed these parcels bearing the Rahma Worldwide logo.

(103,775 posts)...
In a video filmed at GHF's northern site near Nuseirat on Thursday, Palestinians can be seen running away from a perimeter fence after GHF contractors threw a projectile that exploded with a loud bang, a flash and smoke.
GHF in a statement said its personnel "encountered a tense and potentially dangerous crowd that refused to disperse".
"To prevent escalation and ensure the safety of civilians and staff, non-lethal deterrents were deployed - including smoke and warning shots into the ground," it said.

(1,966 posts)IF the UN really want to help feed people, they'd hand those supplies over to GHF to continue to distribute.

(12,489 posts)Dujarric also says that yesterday, we and our humanitarian partners only managed to collect five truckloads of cargo from the Palestinian side of the Kerem Shalom crossing. The other 60 trucks had to return to the crossing due to intense hostilities in the area, Dujarric adds.
An Israeli official says his country has offered the UN logistical and operational support, but the UN is not doing their job.
The official, who speaks on condition of anonymity because hes not authorized to talk to the media, says other organizations have succeeded in collecting aid from the Gaza side of the Kerem Shalom crossing. The official declines to provide details on how many truckloads were collected or which organizations were able to collect them.
It's not that the food is not allowed into Gaza. It's not that other NGOs are unable to distribute it. It's that some distribution agencies are more incompetent than others.

Its policy adviser, Bushra Khalidi, also questioned how vulnerable people, such as the elderly, would be able to reach these sites, which are located some distance away from some population centres.
When the UN had been delivering aid before Israel's humanitarian blockade, there were 400 distribution points spread across Gaza. Under the present GHF distribution system there currently are four known sites.
"By and large, it's designed to dramatically increase the concentration of the population by having the only sources of food remaining in a very small number of places," said Chris Newton, a senior analyst at the Brussels-based think tank Crisis Group.
"You either follow all their rules and probably survive in a small radius around these sites or you are very unlikely to survive."

Hamas wants you to believe they are victims of a genocide while they also hold hostages, reject ceasefire deals, and try to prevent people from receiving aid (in the case where they don't get all the first dibs on it).
Believe who you will,, but one side is a group of islamofascists who would happily kill you.
