AND Jake Tapper's Biden book is in trouble
NEW Countdown Podcast drops at MIDNIGHT
This kind of reality detachment, in such different venues, on such different topics, from turning the West Point graduation ceremony into advice on when to marry a trophy wife to demanding somebody pay him a cut of what Harvard takes in tuition (and mistaking $52 Million for $52 Billion)... this kind of mental incapacity from any other president, at any other time including Trump himself, seven or eight years ago would have been greeted by wall-to-wall television and online coverage and banner newspaper headlines. Instead within 12 hours it was all forgotten so our national media could ignore the extinction-level-event crisis of a president gone fully insane, so it could return to regularly scheduled programming about how the PAST president wouldnt instantly admit his acuity game had slipped to a B, B-minus.
The Trump Trophy Wife remark, to say nothing of the overnight demand of a taste of the tuition action at Harvard, vanished by the time the Sunday news shows hit. Including the Sunday news show hosted by Jake Tapper. ESPECIALLY the Sunday news show hosted by Jake Tapper. Also missing from Tapper's show and the others the reality that Tapper and his co-author, gossip writer Alex Thompson, are going to have to withdraw their book about President Bidens acuity issues. From Politico, Semafor, Breaker, and other outlets comes the not-so-startling truth: these idiots fact checked next to nothing.
There's also an internal revolt against Tapper at CNN.
MEANWHILE: What the hell is wrong with Kristi Noem, and why is Harvard doing so well in fighting back against Trump while my old colleague Claire Shipman and Columbia are circling the drain?

(76,843 posts)I do not think he is mentally ill. He is a sociopath, with features from Cluster B personality disorders. He is also aging, and we see a man reduced to participating almost exclusively in ceremonial events. These take up a few hours per day, at most, unless he is flying. His cognative abilities are reducing at the rate one would anticipate for a heavey-set man his age. If one comes the number of words and phrases he used in 2016 to 2025, one can accurately measure the decline.
At this point, Stephen Miller is the acting president.

(511 posts)... is that illness can be treated. Sickness can be cured, often, and even when there is no cure there is treatment.
The wrongness which is in Donald Trump is going to remain there until he dies. There is no treatment. There is no cure for malignant narcissism, and my six decades on this planet have taught me that stupidity is forever. You can't fix stupid and if a man hasn't grown up in almost 78 years he is never going to do so.
Call out his mental incapacity, sure. But he's not sick. He's evil. There's a difference.

(30,589 posts)There is nowhere nearly enough outrage being directed at the mainstream media's double-standard treatment of trump, and their non-stop trashing of Biden. And, oh yeah: Fuck Jake Tapper.
We need to get Olbermann back on the national scene with a TV show. We're in desperate need of his principled outrage, on a regular, conspicuous basis.
