It's Only 10%, folks!

Only 10% Of Trump Voters Say They Regret Their Vote
That means 90% are still MAGA faithful.
They love the cuts and defunding, the deportations, and makin' Ameritrump Christian Agin!

2. If true, that's a huge shift.

More than 77 million people cast votes for Donald Trump in 2024. If it's true that 10% now regret their votes, that's almost 8 million people who no longer support him.

Harris would have won by nearly 7 million votes. Assuming this change of heart is consistent across states, Harris would have won every single "swing state" and all the states Trump flipped. It would have been an electoral college and popular vote landslide for Harris.

And it's only been 100 days.

So the challenge before us is: how do we convince all those voters to get out and vote for Democrats in every future election?

Not necessarily. 10% said they regret their vote for Trump. They didn't say that they would shift to Harris. Of course, some would but it's impossible to say how many.

With that being said, 10% is a lot. Perhaps it jumps to 20% by the Winter?

9. My math may be off, but I wasn't assuming they would switch to Harris.

If those ~8 million voters had just stayed home instead of casting votes for Trump, I think Harris would have won by nearly 7 million votes.

It was a very close election.

4. If 10% of trump voters had voted Democratic or stayed at home, we would have won in 2024. It doesn't take converting

all, half, three-fourths, or even 85% of trump voters to win, and win big. Actually, converting 5% and encouraging non-voters to vote would do it.

5. We could probably win just by convincing non-voters to vote.

Let the MAGATs wallow in their losing side.

12. The problem is that's hard to do consistently

It's not just a voting problem, it's in everything. 6.8 million people in the US donate blood, but instead of being able to get more people to donate, the Red Cross pings me well before I'm able to donate to the point of annoyance because it's more effective for them to harass me into donating again than getting a new person to donate. Voting is the same. It's hard to convince new people to vote. Look at the 2020 election when basically anyone could vote by mail and we only about 65% turnout of the voting eligible population.

Hopefully that 10% will be enough to help get rid of him or at least take back the house.
