If you're fortunate and wealthy, it's because you deserve it. God shows his favor by rewarding you. You don't have to feel guilty about taking more than your fair share, because people get what they deserve. God ensures that.

If you see unfortunate, poor people, you can be confident that they brought it on themselves.

This is the opposite of Jesus's actual message, as told in the New Testament.

I have a feeling that every millennia or so humans have to come down hard on selfishness and greed because those human traits destroy our societies.

Every Jewish person I know lives closer to Christ's teaching than most evangelicals.
