I hate to admit this

But gaslighting works, maybe our party should engage in it strategically when it comes to the economy and civil rights. How that looks is certainly open for discussion. But we can no longer stay outside the mud pit. We need to take a page from the other side and turn it against them. When they go low kick em in the teeth.

1. Or we could write a "strongly worded letter". That was the most pathetic statement

We would pick some ridiculous, prominent issue, and go all-in loudly on it forever, in hopes of getting the MAGA side and Trump's minions and perhaps even Trump himself to become fed up with the idea until they become exasperated and point the finger at us and scream "Gaslighting!!!"

That might have some merit.

... to beat it.

This last election points out exactly why we can't do what you suggest: a lot of people didn't vote because they felt there was no difference between the parties. Defeating MAGA will not happen if we adopt their methods. Becoming them doesn't defeat them, it defeats us.

Your suggestion reminds me of the little boy caught masturbating in a closet. His mother told him if he continued, he would go blind. The little boy thought for a second and asked, "Can I do it until I just need glasses?"

At what point would we stop lying and acting like MAGA?

AS President Truman said, "I never did give anybody hell. I just told the truth and they thought it was hell."

Lies will not defeat lies.

11. I hate to admit this - but Bernie Sanders has a point.

Too many people felt left behind, despite our booming economy. Too many people felt overlooked, discarded, looked down on.

We can argue all the facts: the U.S. recovered better than any other nation after COVID, Biden was dramatically turning around Reaganomics, the Democrats do more for rural people than the Republicans ever do, Republicans always trash the economy and we have to fix it - but it's a fact that too many people don't believe it because they don't experience it.

For forty years the Republicans have shifted prosperity away from middle class Americans. They gave all that wealth to the very rich, and they scapegoated Democrats and minorities.

We let it happen. Our Democratic leaders let it happen without raising hell.

We have to raise hell now.
