Tornado? High Winds? Just Missed My Daughter's House.

She lives about 40 miles north of Pittsburgh, 245,000 people without power and school is canceled.

The storm completely uprooted 15 trees and 10 trees snapped in half. One of the uprooted trees left a 15 foot hole in the ground.

The trees were below her house on a hillside. One small branch did stick into her screen on her sliding doors.

Daughter has a built-in generator so she has power in her house. They called me, they were pretty shook up.

So that same storm was headed my way, I live 100 miles north of my daughter. I was so lucky, the storm split and left a pretty clear path for it to miss my house.

Going to see a lot of severe weather I'm afraid.

Leaving the road from her house you can't turn left, the road is covered with trees.

One photo shows a fallen tree lying crosswise on top of a small white car which was smashed by the impact. Two deaths occurred, one via electrocution. Hundreds of thousands remained without power as of early this morning.

I am glad that your daughter and her loved ones are safe.

NOAA/National Weather Service is being gutted. Including emergency functions.
