28 April 1930 A Czech Jewish girl, Hana Beckov, was born in Prague.

(silence)

(thinking how this young Czech girl looks almost exactly as my oldest sister did
at a young age)

28 April 1930 | A Czech Jewish girl, Hana Becková, was born in Prague.

Deported from #Theresienstadt to #Auschwitz on 15 May 1944. Registered in the camp. She did not survive.

My grandfather was in immigrant,
came to American in early 1900s,
Think first to Texas, then to Missouri

I guess that’s why I love Eastern European food.
I love Jewish delis in US,
Nothing better than sauerkraut and potato dumpling

I have to go quite a ways for an authentic Jewish diner but there's a very good market will excellent variety very close by.

I just read that Willie Nelson turned 92 today - he's just three years younger than Hana......really drives home how much life was lost........
