MN-SEN: Craig launches bid for Minnesota Senate

Rep. Angie Craig (D-Minn.) is launching a bid to replace retiring Sen. Tina Smith (D-Minn.) in the Senate next year, making her the latest major Democrat to enter the race.

“I’m Angie Craig. I’ve had to fight my whole life, and damn if we don’t have a fight on our hands right now,” the Minnesota Democrat says in her campaign launch video released on Tuesday.

“There’s chaos and corruption coming out of Washington crashing down on all of us every day; an out-of-control, unelected billionaire trying to take over our government and burn it to the ground; a president trampling our rights and freedoms as he profits for personal gain, and a cowardly Republican Party rolling over and letting it all happen,” she continued. “It’s time to fight back.”

Craig, who’s represented Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District since 2019, leaned into her bio in her video, noting she was raised by a single mom in a mobile home and her time working as both a newspaper reporter and working her way up at a manufacturer in Minnesota.

Craig won her House district in 2018, defeating then-incumbent Rep. Jason Lewis (R-Minn.). It was the second time Craig had run against Lewis, who had narrowly defeated her in 2016.

Craig voted for the Laken Riley Act and has already notched Dean Phillips' endorsement.

6. She is also another No Labels Problem Solvers Caucus member, so a hard pass from me. Same for Haley Stevens

who is also running for US Senate against the far better (IMHO) Mallory McMorrow (in Michigan, so MI would end up with both their US Senators being ex Problems Solvers, as Slotkin was yet another PS member in the House).

I wager No Labels might try to do a US Senate Problem Solvers group if they get enough ex members in there, as they already have Jacky Rosen of NV and Welch of VT in it, plus Jared Golden of Maine might also run for Senate in 2026, and Wiley Nickel of NC already is. At least AZ replaced the ex Problem Solver Sinema with Gallego.

(never forget No Labels Problem Solvers are bi-partisan with Rethug members as well)

...having his ass kicked by Klobuchar in the last election. He's a ride-or-die MAGA chud who uses 4chan-bro language ( e.g. "cuck" ) like it's still 2005. White is a complete embarrassment to the state; he's so extreme that most of the Republican party establishment washes their hands of him. He is, however, very popular with the MAGA rank-and-file, even in a blue state like MN.

...with so little apparent self-respect that they allowed the Royce White campaign to put his signs on their lawns. (I only saw them in suburban areas, for what it's worth). And as if White's candidacy wasn't surreal enough, his campaign slogan was "the people are coming!". I can just imagine how easily the kids twisted that into X-rated bon mots!
