China and America. It's easier to replace money than goods

In this tariff war, China has the clear advantage.
In times of economic distress, a strong central government can buoy the economic impact of a loss in incomes of people and businesses. As most of the world did during COVID.
But a restricted supply chain cannot be easily replaced. Especially when there are no alternatives and new production can take years.
China will weather their loss of sales to the US better than we will deal with massive shortages.

is having a problem finding other markets. Americans appear to need larger sizes than other countries.

That is not the issue. China has the money to support these companies if they struggle because of the tariffs.
We do not have the manufacturers to replace the goods we need.
Our position is much weaker.
