CONGRESSMAN SHRI THANEDAR INTRODUCES ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT AGAINST PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP FOR HIGH CRIMES AND MISDE

https://thanedar.house.gov/media/press-releases/congressman-shri-thanedar-introduces-articles-of-impeachment-against-president-donald-j-trump-for-high-crimes-and-misdemeanors

Did I miss this somehow?

"Donald Trump has repeatedly demonstrated that he is unfit to serve as President and represents a clear and present danger to our nation’s constitution and our democracy," said Rep. Thanedar. "His unlawful actions have subverted the justice system, violated the separation of powers, and placed personal power and self-interest above public service. We cannot wait for more damage to be done. Congress must act."

The resolution includes seven articles of impeachment outlining a range of constitutional violations:

Obstruction of Justice and Abuse of Executive Power: Including denial of due process, unlawful deportations, defiance of court orders, and misuse of the Department of Justice.

Usurpation of Appropriations Power: For dismantling congressionally established agencies and impounding federal funds.

Abuse of Trade Powers and International Aggression: Including imposing economically damaging tariffs and threatening military invasion against sovereign nations.

Violation of First Amendment Rights: Through retaliatory actions against critics, media, and attorneys exercising constitutionally protected speech.

Creation of an Unlawful Office: By establishing the Department of Government Efficiency (“DOGE”) and unlawfully empowering Elon Musk to unilaterally violate the Constitution.

Bribery and Corruption: Involving dismissing criminal cases, soliciting foreign emoluments, and extortionate settlements for personal and political gain.

Tyrannical Overreach: Seeking to consolidate unchecked power, erode civil liberties, and defy constitutional limits on presidential authority.

And here we go...

It doesn’t.

But it is a record of Trump’s corruption, abuses, and crimes.

The rules themselves are somewhat arcane, and I don't know if it's been used for impeachment, but there are some procedural means to get around a reluctant speaker.

Keeping Trump from going public with whatever he has on them for leverage, or preserving their spot in congress by separating themselves from him politically?
Marvel's latest season of "Daredevil" presents Fisk as a Trump-like NY mayor. He forces loyalty out of the police commissioner by showing him a photo of a son born outside of his marriage. The commissioner caves.

wait for it 😱 twitter.

It won't go anywhere but I would love them to publish the articles of impeachment as often as they can.

To make it go anywhere we NEED to win a majority, a large one, in both House and Senate.

What we don't need is David Hogg, who turned 25 on April 12th, to advocate primarying the Democrats HE alone decides to support with his pac. Primary Repukes to give us more seats! How hard is that to understand? Do the math FFS!

TY, SheltieLover.

It is encouraging and good to see Trump's crimes laid out so clearly, officially, and concisely. We need more resistance like this. If we can regain the House in 2026 this statement will be remembered as an actual precursor to holding Trump and his gang of criminals accountable. So this is good.

Americans will be furious!! Stock up, DU. Buy the critical items you need before you can't get any at all. Be that food components, nuts and bolts, filters, gaskets, O-rings. China is tuning us out. Expect long shortages.

Also: DJT's pardoning and praising of the J6 Capitol attackers -- an admission of his willingness to aid and abet those convicted of a violent antidemocratic insurrection -- should be included.

And, publicly aired impeachment proceedings could convince and embolden whistleblowers -- especially those from within DJT's party -- to come out of the shadows and speak out about as yet unknown unconstitutional and criminal activities.

He deserves it, but I think most voter are going to say, "Here we go again". It's possible that some time in the future, most voters will be in favor of it.
