(2,759 posts)got about the same percentage as Trump, if you remove the US voters who couldnt be bothered to vote against fascism. Maybe if the US electorate had been exposed to information instead of propaganda and pablum our results would have been similar to Canada's.

Outstanding for Canada and all pro-democracy people around the world.

(49,630 posts)Mark Carney led the Liberals to victory on Monday in an election dominated by issues like affordability, tariffs and annexation threats from U.S. President Donald Trump.
CTV News is declaring the Liberals have won enough seats in the 45th federal election to form a minority government.
As of 10:51 p.m EDT, the Liberals had won or were leading in 161 out of 343 ridings. Pierre Poilievres Conservatives are set to remain in opposition, with 137 ridings so far. Parties need 172 seats to form a majority.
Poilievre is the fourth consecutive Conservative leader to lose to the Liberals, who have remained in power since 2015.

(4,974 posts)This was a cakewalk election for them as recently as five months ago.
Hilariously, Trudeau got the last laugh on Trump by managing his step-aside as he did.
I really don't understand why Trump kept pushing on the 51st state thing. There's a non-zero chance that his funders actually want Carney in. That's all I can think of. It's bananas how poorly this seems to have been managed from a MAGA point of view.

(989 posts)because of the resources, i.e., money, he sees.
Prairie Gates
(4,974 posts)Now he is going to have an aggressive liberal government with a mandate to stick it to him rather than a friendly conservative government. The resources alone don't explain how stupidly this whole thing was managed.

(1,783 posts)Wow, so many triggered "alleged" Canadian Twitter voters who are responding like vile children to the Liberal party victories in Canada. There is no way these accounts are from real Canadians, not in these numbers. I read that Russia was trying to interfere in Canada's election, just like they have in the US. That is so obvious in the triggered replies.

(5,533 posts)will also not be a majority. As well, they will need help from yet another party to get legislation passed and it looks like the The Block (Quebec separatist party ) would be it.
We will all be hoping that the Block head will be amenable to cooperating.
