I drew my line in the sand.

I said right on my online dating profile "I'm looking for a Democrat." I'm a man looking for a woman, btw. I was messaging with a woman who gave kind of a noncommittal statement about not supporting Trump but not liking politics in general so I said "just to be clear, I don't want to be with anyone who didn't vote for Kamala Harris". And I don't. Why the hell isn't every woman (and man) in America saying "Trump supporters can fuck off?" Very few women even fill out their political orientation. The fact is if you can't take two hours of your year to make a pragmatic vote to keep a CONVICTED felon and rapist out of office, you're not an adult. And I only date adults.

was the ticket. The next year I read Karl Marx and did a 180.
Met my wife at a Secular Humanist Fellowship and had seen her at Democratic Party meetings. Wasn’t looking for love, but found it.
Good luck.

... and decided John Galt was not worth knowing and that Ayn Rand was just an angry person dissatisfied with her place in life, a condition she blamed on do gooders.

The only other mistake like that I ever made was the ten minutes I listened to Nickleback. That and supporting Barry Goldwater.

I always wonder if Gary Cooper ever regretted making the movie. I know I never regretted not seeing it.

... my point had nothing to with hiding support for Goldwater, my point had to do with not writing people off too easily.

I don't entertain haters, idiots, fascists, racists, sexists, rapists, felons, insurrectionists, and their ilk. My time is too important to waste

You shouldn't have to do so with someone with whom you want to become involved. Not to mention, respect is hard to fathom between those with their eyes fully open (and those who bury their heads in the sand).

All humans get the same 24 hours every single day of life.
How they spend that time separates the children in grownup bodies from the adults.
In times like these, life's too short. Ain't nobody got time for that.

That was about the only thing that survived our brief marriage of 27 years.
We're still kicking GOP ass.

My daughter may have some idea how rad her Dad was in the 60's.

Things may have changed, though. In the 80s my late uncle commented that theirs was “a house divided.”
